There has to be more to it. I’ve seen far too many opponents not facing the ball but getting perfect pass/catch animations, even when I’m in the passing lane. I usually don’t make high steal builds tho, does a defender with interceptor impact pass/catch animations?

Moving to catch a ball on a ping 189 to 200 Ping or Latency explains everything. It is not about the variables or shit. It is the Ping. Even you have 25 to 45 passing rate it will be always the same unless the one that will try to steal it have a Steal rating of 75 and higher. People should know this basic fundamental Maths. NBA arcade games since 1995 are plague with delay input latency. Its 4 decades now. 2K haven't solve it yet, that is why I only play this game Offline or just purely My Career.

This is only useful for low standing dunks 90 or higher meter it ive got 90 standing dunk 90 strength 30 post control at 7ft and its so simple to standing dunk on any defender post up dropstep pumpfake to make sure youre square to the basket then you can meter dunk all day on whoever is there as long as they are under the basket

the actual way to do this that you'll see every single stage 1's sweat doing is getting as close under the net as you can, pump faking or drop stepping (depends if you have post control or not) and then using kobe triple threat style towards the pivot foot as it is extremely bugged and just pushes them out of the way, leaving your green window huge every time

It gets proven time and time again vert is an expensive/useless stat outside of unlocking badges and animations and people still swear you need it or they feel a difference. I have a center with no vert, I still fly in the air for boards because of gold rebound chaser and I still get blocks because of anchor and interior. Unless you’re going for elite chase downs or high level dunks, don’t waste the attributes, it’s all placebo.

As a standing dunk specialist, this is not how it is done 😂. Drop stepping into standing dunk is not the best way to do it. As long as you are close enough to the basket, the key is to make sure your player squares up to the rim, you’ll see in this video tutes outlet pass after squaring up, where as he was in perfect position to Standing dunk( You must use your Meter dunk anytime you are closely guarded). The most OP way of doing standing dunk is to get as close to the hoop whilst dribbling and not to gather the ball, keep bouncing it , then do Dunk meter( For some reason you get a large green window every time) be careful with this method as you will susceptible to strips and steals. Another’s way I like to standing dunk is to stay close to the side of the hoop and if you have at least 2 body widths of space and receive the ball hold turbo,Square and towards the rim and you will contact standing dunk into your opponent center. Bro I'm telling you guys vert is huge in a very specific way. Yes you have the same chances of getting a block specifically in the chase down category. However with the different variations of layups and dunks the ball is manipulated differently while the players in air. With higher vert it allows you to still get to a chase down block even when the player is doing tricky layups or really tricky dunk packages. Basically it gives your player better ability to get their hand on the ball for for Chase Downs.

Tip from a post scorer…. When trying to attack the post with a spin or drop step you have the advantage 100% of the time as long as your defender doesn’t have strength or interior defense BUT it’s all about positioning… if you look at the clips when tutes misses off the drop step the 3 contest indicators near his feet show his defender squared up in front of him (middle bar highlighted red) which is optimal positioning for guarding a drop step. You want to drop step only when the defender is leaning to your left or right and ideally towards the side they’re leaning on. Add “Flagrant-LL” if you need post tips. I have a 90+wp playing 1v1’s on my post-lock (pro-am build).

Another tip: BE PATIENT! When you get ready to land (be it after your dropstep or from offensive rebound under basket), wait for your player to set his feet. The natural reaction is to immediately trigger the dunk but over the year I've noticed that your player needs to have both feet on the floor to maximize standing dunk opportunities. It's still not a guarantee, but I've played REC as a 5 all damn year for better or worse and that's my experience hahaha. Good vid as always Tutes!

Recommend a video on interceptor timing. I have HoF interceptor but can’t get passing lane steals. Pretty sure I’m mistiming it.

I'm 5'7 with extremely low standing dunk attributes but since I'm a slasher, I still get standing dunks from time to time.

Bigs have been terrible since 2k19, 2k20 was a slight improvement but of course it didnt last because with annual games comes unnecessary changes and rinse and repeat.

I don't get the point of these tests. Nobody cares about what the attribute stat on something like this does. Attributes do comparatively nothing for you, we care about what the badges do at each level. I.E. if you are testing an 85 perimeter, you should test it with the badges an 85 perimeter gets. I get why you do just the attributes but its pointless because once you throw badges in the equation its an entirely different result.

I had a 99 vertical on a perimeter lockdown in 2K22 man I was blocking shit with my fucking eyeballs looking at the top of the backboard. That shit used to be hilarious. There are 100% blocking animations hidden behind 90+ vertical. I also have seen a 6’7 center in the rec averaging 25 rebounds a game that had 95 vertical I believe.
